Youth Environmental Summit (YES) 2018

Date: 31 January to 4 February 2018

“Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans.”

Jacques Yves Cousteau (French Explorer)

So, shall we all stand up to do something about the global garbage cans now!  Learn how to play a part to save the earth from YES 2018!

YES is an exciting integrated programme that introduces youths to hot-button environmental issues through a series of inspirational seminars by prominent experts and social entrepreneurs, educational field trips and learning workshops, as well as social business conceptualization and presentations.

Students will learn how our way of living impact the global environmental issues such as global climate change, food and water sustainability, urban development and environment conservation, importance of “reduce, reuse and recycle”, etc.

There will be a workshop on social enterprise focusing on “Environment”, where students have the opportunity to discuss ideas with their peers from the region, interact with professional mentors, and to conceptualize environmental-related projects toward improving their local community. All students groups are expected to present their ideas to a panel of judges.

Students are encourage to implement the project that they presented during YES, and play a part to clear our ocean, lakes, rivers and sky from the state of “garbage cans”!
